Peckham is considered one of the coolest areas of South-East London - home to a vibrant creative community, a buzz of energy and an excellent choice of places to eat and drink and experience some culture. Our favourites include Frank's Café (a rooftop bar with panoramic views, Campari cocktails and spectacular sunsets), Artusi (for it's delicious and seasonal Italian food), The Begging Bowl (an incredible Thai Restaurant) and Ganapati (a laid back, authentic South Indian restaurant), the Bussey Building for multiple cultural venues and outlets - and who could forget Peckham's local, affordable independent cinema, the Peckhamplex! We could go on.
East Dulwich is also an easy walk from Avondale Rise. Considered one of London's best neighbourhoods, the locale has a brilliant energy and buzz with so much to offer. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to excellent pubs, independent shops, green spaces, exercise studios and cultural hubs. Some of our favourites include Kokum Indian restaurant (new on the field, but a strong rival to Dishoom any day of the week), Chacarero Empanada House (Empanadas so good an Argentinian friend will buy them out of stock when she visits!), Kix Bar (for excellent cocktails), Picturehouse Cinema and local food shops including Moxons Fishmongers, Mons Cheesemongers and Terroirs wine shop. Avondale Rise is also a stone's throw away from Dulwich leisure centre, providing excellent sports facilities including a newly refurbished gym, swimming pool and exercise classes.
On Saturdays, North Cross Road Market has a cool mix of stalls selling food, arts, crafts, antiques and lots more besides. East Dulwich is a thoroughly lovely place around which to wander, while taking in the relaxed vibe.
Holdron Street also gives you easy access to multiple green spaces, including the popular Peckham Rye, Dulwich park and Sydenham Woods is a short bus ride away, allowing you to feel like you're in the countryside all within a 15 minute journey from your home.
Further afield, trendy areas like Dulwich village, Camberwell, Nunhead, Telegraph Hill, New Cross provide huge choice for exploring, cultural hubs and green spaces.
Holdron Street is extremely well connected, with lines to Victoria, London Bridge, Blackfriars, Kings Cross, as well as the Windrush Overground line stopping at both Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye. Bus links effortlessly connect Peckham and East Dulwich to London hubs like Waterloo and Elephant and Castle.
